Why WoW Nude Mods are Broken (Explanation)
Hi folks. In short, all custom, visual mods that change characters, creatures, and other in-game objects, are broken.
This is because in patch 7.3, Blizzard changed the way that their wow.exe works. In such a way that now it is impossible to make a custom wow.exe and thus make visual mods/skins work in the game.
Custom WoW.exe?
You originally needed to download a modified version of wow.exe that made the game use the files from the mods you put in. Things like a nude character skin.
What makes this new, 7.3 wow.exe impossible to edit?
Quoting from Darknest:
"Due to the way Blizzard is going to start packing their exes, it renders disassembler programs useless to do anything with it. I would have to extract a specific file within the exe, do the edit then reinsert the file back into the exe. However at this time there isn't any software out on the market able to do this (basically Blizzard is keeping their packing software in-house)."
In-game, UI files like Deadly Boss Mods etc. work. Even a mod that replaces ingame UI pictures with nekk** girls (like your talents page) should work. Things that change models and textures, need a modified wow.exe.
Why would they do this?
Botting, largely. Bots utilized custom wow.exes, so did some hack tools, but largely bots. Apparently, this change has ruined a majority of botting software.
Doom/Gloom? Thoughts.
Botting/Hacking vs. Security/anti-hack is, and always shall be an ever-present arms race in popular games. The people making a real living off of their bots, and other tools selling, alongside the communities that embrace them, will always try to take down the latest security measures.
You can look at Denuvo, for example. Games that "Can't be cracked/pirated" eventually are. But usually after a while, and in this case especially, Blizzard will actively work against new efforts trying to beat their security.
My wish is that some way to break/modify the wow.exe can arise that's not directly linked to botting, so that loophole can exist for perverts while Blizzard does other stuff to combat the bots.
What can I do now to oggle my WoW chars?
Besides bikini armor, the main answer is private servers. But it's difficult (impossible? I hope not) to combine those "Legion Models in Vanilla/wotlk WoW" patches with nude patches because of file structure. If I figure out how, I'd be in love. It may be theoretically possible to have the latest models + nude skins and slutty armor on a popular private server.
What you won't have, is a population who shares those interests-- roleplaying especially. RP servers exist, and a lot of erp does go on in them, but the servers are quite tiny. I'd certainly love for some kind of, corruption of champions ERP WoW server to exist, but until then you can't really get that "Goldshire-Moonguard" fix.

Some ppl say there is a risk using it, I am not certain yes or no. For I only use it to take screenshot and record videos, I switch back to normal when I actually play the game, I appreciate the ppl who figured it out and shared it.
