Am I Bisexual?
Q: I’m an 18-year-old guy. Like every guy my age, I see girls in booty shorts and clothing like that. And it turns me on. But I also get turned on when some of the guys at school show some skin when they take off their shirts and are full of muscles. I occasionally look at some of my male friend’s butts if they are facing away from me or their crotch if they are facing me. And have gotten hard from looking at some of the male students. Does this mean I’m bisexual?
A: It might. Our sexuality evolves, and it may take some time to discover what turns us on, what attracts us, etc. There are some questions you can ask yourself. They come from a bisexuality quiz.
- Are you sexually attracted to both sexes?
- Have you ever had sex with both genders?
- What motivates you most to be with women?
- What motivates you most to be with men?
- Which of the two genders are you most comfortable with?
- Do you have a problem with being attracted to both genders?
- Would you feel as excited if someone from your gender asked you out, as you feel when someone from the opposite gender does?
- Which sex do you have sexual fantasies about?
- Can you see a future with someone from the same gender as you?
- Do you think you are bisexual?
One’s orientation is determined by multiple factors such as who we are attracted to, who we fantasize about, who we fall in love with, and who we have sex with.
Watching Porn
Q: Is it okay to watch porn?
A: Statistically, most people watch porn (all genders). The potential problem with porn is that it gives young people very unrealistic expectations of sex. Porn is entertainment and fantasy, and sometimes very far from what you will experience with a real person. You are watching too much if you are preoccupied with it, if it interferes with your daily activities and if it keeps you from socializing and dating. Too much porn accompanied by masturbation can also make you have trouble ejaculating when with a partner because it is not at all the same type of stimulation. So if you find you are having trouble with a partner, give up porn for a while so that you can get used to the stimulation of being with a real human.
