Man, 27, dies after stabbing in Glasgow

A 27-year-old man has died following an assault in Glasgow on Saturday.

Police received a report around 17:00 of a man being attacked and stabbed on Saracen Street in Possil.

Emergency services attended and transported the man to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he later died.

Police are conducting inquiries about two men they believe were involved in the attack.

The first suspect is described as white, in his 30s, wearing a light blue top and black shorts.

The second suspect is white, also in his 30s and wearing a white top with black shorts and back trainers.

Police Scotland are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and ask any members of the public with additional information to get in touch.

Det Insp Lesley-Ann McGee said: “It was a warm, sunny day yesterday and there were lots of people out enjoying the weather in Saracen.

"I am asking them to get in touch with us with any information that could assist us in establishing the motive for this attack.

“I’m also asking people with dash cam or doorbell recording equipment to check for any footage that could assist our investigation.

"A family is mourning the loss of a loved one and it’s imperative we are able to answer how their loved one died.”

Police say there will be an increased presence in the area over the coming days.
