How I became Becky the bimbo
I will do my blog about my coming out later this week but let me explain how I became Becky the Bimbo.
My parents are 2nd generation Indians. They were born and raised in the UK and they are of Islamic faith. They used to get me to wear a veil and if I refused my Dad threatened to cut my face and pour acid over me. I was banned from speaking to boys outside my family.
My parents tried to force me to marry my cousin when I was 10. In front of family and friends I said no, I was too young.
That night I was woken up as a punishment. My arms and legs were held down. I don't need to tell you what my cousins and uncles did to me. My mother said it was God's will and just gave me a tampon. She told me if I told anyone it would be the last thing I did if you know what I mean. I was crying all day at school but there was nothing I could do.
When I was 13 I was taken to India to be married, well we were going to be taken across the border to Pakistan. My little cousin who was 4 was with me. She and I were due to marry this 55-year-old man who had 2 wives and 20 k**s. They wanted to gain citizenship and claim social security. My Dad was looking forward to living off the social.
I was on skype with my best friend saying that I'd been online and I wasn't going to let them do this. I was going to take 50 paracetamol tablets and get the little one to do the same so we'd go to heaven in our sleep and they'd never get their money.
She sent me a skype asking where I was with hundreds of emojis saying "we love you, please don't do anything silly. help is coming. you'll be home in a week."
I went for my last meal that night. I was in tears. I read that if you had a good meal ending it all by paracetamol overdose is painless and you die in your sleep. They all thought it was pre-wedding tears.
As I sat down for dinner there was a huge knock and the door. A man shouted in Hindi and English that they should open the door or it would be forced open.
My grandfather opened the door. Then what happened next would shock you. This guy said "My name is Bond, James Bond. I am here on behalf of Her Majesty's government. Her Majesty's government does not support forced marriage and you are holding two of Her Majesty's citizens here. I am here to take them home."
He forced his way through and shouted out "Rabia where are you" (That's my original name.) I stood up. He asked where my did sister was. He took her by the hand and handed her over to this woman who was with him. He then said "I am Penny's cousin. I am here to take you home." He was in India on business at the time.
My father, cousins, and uncles then threatened him. He kicked the shit out of them- literally. OK, he had 5 thugs behind him to help but he did it himself. I felt justice when I saw blood come from the groin of the cousin who did me as a 10-year-old. I found out later that my grandfather, uncles, and father ended up in wheelchairs or crutches.
As he left he said to my mother that if they tried to come back to the UK they would be arrested under the Forced Marriage act, face up to 6 years in prison, and then be deported. My mother then realized what she had done. Tears came down her eyes and she looked at me and said "I am sorry." My savior then said "you've had your whole life to be sorry. This is what happens when you care more for your family's honour and other people's families more than your own."
I was brought home, put into social security care, and fostered. If my parents come to the UK they will be arrested under the forced marriage act and go to jail.
My adoptive parents had a celebratory barbeque on the beach. I wore a bikini. I burned my veils on the barbeque. I ate a bacon sandwich, a hot dog, and hamburgers all day long. the following day I turned vegetarian and over 15 years later I am still vegetarian!
I said to my foster Dad that there were women on the beach topless because they didn't want tan lines. I asked if I could go topless. I didn't realise that my adoptive mother was untying my bikini top from behind for that reason. They are swingers too!
