Freeware video editing options

I suggest you use VirtualDub for any video editing needs. Also I suggest you use the 32bit
version because the 64bit version has compatibility issues with some plugins needed to edit
video. This is true freeware with no restrictions on use.

Freeware video editor:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdub/

Plugin to handle most file formats:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdubffmpeginputplugin/

If you still need additional formats try these:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/fcchandler/files/?source=navbar

Editing filter and guide:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Virtualdub-Logoaway-filter

plugin installation example:
http://thesunstroke.blogspot.com/2014/06/how-to-make-virtualdub-openedit-mkv-mp4.html

additional codecs can be found here:
http://free-codecs.com/Video_Codecs.htm

I suggest you edit your files using a YUV codec if you can so you get some compression
without losing quality. If you need to save space use a mjpeg codec or Xvid with high bitrate.
Then compress to mp4 using handebrake for uploading to xham.

mp4 and mkv encoder of choice:
https://handbrake.fr/

I forgot you'll likely need this for aac audio:
http://free-codecs.com/AAC_ACM_Codec_download.htm

you can look for other audio acm codecs on free-codecs as well. For any you can't find
convert them to wave w Winamp's disk writer output plugin.

za hahadadada : There is a logo filter in virtual dub, one internal and one by Donald Graft but you'd have to add a fitler for each placement manually to simulate what you want which is a lot more work.

za hahadadada : I dont know of any free options to do that. I know you can do something similar in Premiere. I only ever really needed to do simple stuff so I havent worked w anything advanced in over 10 years.

Excuse me, out of topic.
Do you know what i can use to make "random scrolling video watermarks"?
It is a video watermark but it moves randomly like a bouncing ball.

It is easiest to remove text by cropping the video; you can do this with handbrake at handbrake.fr or use virtualdub with the null transform filter then then click cropping. If you use virtualdub I would encode using the x264 codec you can download from codecs.com. There is also an addon filter for virtualdub you can get called logoway google search it to find it on videohelp; vdub is at virtualdub.org and you'll also need the FFmpeg plugin for virtualdub to open non avi filetypes. That you can find on sourceforge.net and there is some guides on videohelp.com as well. If you have any further questions you can ask me and ill try to answer when i have time. With logoaway you can put a black box over the text or blur it out. Look for a guide on how to use it for examples.

za zonda69 : If the square artifacts are in your source video there is a few reasons why it could be there. It can be from using a bit rate that is too low for HD video resulting in over compression, alternately I've seen people resize sd to HD and this can also cause this effect. Upsampling on it's own should not cause this but they probably used a low quality video editor that resized poorly or they used a bit rate that was too low on the up conversion. The only other reason I've seen for this kind of issue is if you do a color space conversion dropping the bits if this is done poorly it can cause similar or worse output. The only real way to combat this kind of problem is to resize the video smaller to say 720 or 480p and use a proper compression setting. Even then the blocking can still persist.

You seem to know some stuff about video editing...i use Aimersoft Video Converter Pro and lately i noticed many vids started to get these square artifacts...tearing...what ever you want to call them.. in the vid...more when i try saving them as mp4...i switched to avi for the latest one but i'm not sure...i think i prefer the mp4 quality better.Any ideeas on how to deal with them ? There's more Kianna in for you

Thank you for this Yahoo. I have so many videos I can't upload because of watermarks
