Hey F&I, long time. I checked out your list a while back but haven't had a chance to comment. I saw your question to Mr Bungle about his avatar, which is one of the seminal punk bands and should be on your list. My taste is more to hard music than yours, but if you want to hear the best of punk you should add these three bands to your list:

1. The Misfits (Glenn Danzig is brilliant)
2. The Ramones
3. The Clash

That being said, I thought I would share our common ground with the bands from your list that I have seen live.

Aerosmith - Houston, TX - 1997
Beastie Boys - San Antonio, TX - 1998
Chemical Brothers - Dallas, TX - 1997
Guns & Roses - Dallas, TX - 1989 & 1991
Michael & The Jackson 5 (Eddie Van Halen joined them for solo on Beat It) - Dallas, TX - 1984
Oasis & U2 (Oasis opened, awesome show) - Oakland, CA - 1997
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Foo Fighters opened) - Houston, TX - 1999
The Rolling Stones - Dallas 1989 & Houston 1998
Supergrass (Opened for Pearl Jam) - Houston 2000

Not on your list, but... Pearl Jam!!!!!!!
Charleston, SC - 1996
Dallas, TX - 1998
Houston, TX - 2000
Dallas, TX - 2003

One current recommendation is, The Gutter Twins album Saturnalia.

To Fireice,

Like yourself I have an IPOD. In fact I have several, 2 Nanos, Classic 120gb and as 32gb touch. I think you have done really well with the music list. However I would add the following:-

1)ERIC CLAPTON.
2) JOE BONAMASSA. Not sure of the spelling but like Clapton.
3) EAGLES.
4) BAD COMPANY
5)ARGENT

I could go on but the list is primarily 'subjective'.

I make online purchases from Amazon and they have Box sets of 5 CDS for about £5 or less. Each box is 100 songs between 3 to 5 minutes long. Various types of music as well from Rock to Motown. For that price it's a steal. I got several. Put them on an IPOD and then a 'PLAYLIST' Heaven. Please don't forget Planet rock radio on DAB. Early U2 this morning. Not 'New Years `Day etc. Nice song granted, but too much airtime .

ALSO, ABOUT WEIRD AL - I THINK HE IS SIMPLY INCREDIBLE! NOT JUST FOR THE JOKES BUT HOW HE CAN DO SOOOO MANY STYLES AND MUSICAL GENRES PERFECTLY AND STILL MAKE THEM FUNNY LIKE FROM MADONNA AND MJ TO EMINEM AND R. KELLY, VIA GREENDAY AND JAMES BLUNT!!! I DIDN'T SEE HIM IN BRITAIN BUT THEN AGAIN I'M NOT A MAJOR FAN OF LIVE MUSIC...MAYBE IT'S JUST ME BUT EVEN THOUGH THE ATMOSPHERE IS THERE IT NEVER SOUNDS LIKE I LOVE IT TO!! :open_mouth:)

HEY THANKS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS! :open_mouth:) AS FOR THE NEW KANYE WEST LP, I THINK THE CRITICS HAVE MAAASSSSIIIIVVVEELLLY OVERRATED IT. IT'S LIKE WHEN '808'S AND HEARTBREAKS' CAME OUT, YOU WILL SEE SEVERAL 10/10 & 5/5 REVIEWS FOR IT BECAUSE MOST CRITICS WERE WAITING ON OTHERS BEFORE THEY MADE JUDGEMENT. KANYE HIMSELF KEPT SAYING IT WAS THE GREATEST SHIT EVER AND NONE OF THE REVIEWERS WANTED TO LOOK 'FOOLISH' FOR SEEING IT FOR WHAT IT REALLY IS. I MYSELF DON'T MIND IT, TO BE HONEST.THE THING IS WITH KANYE HE IS LIKE A BRAND RATHER THAN JUST A RAPPER. I'M NOT SURE OF YOUR RACE BUT I THINK THE THING KANYE WEST HAS GOING FOR HIM IS THAT HE MAKES RAP MUSIC FOR NOT ONLY BLACK PEOPLE BUT ALSO MIDDLE CLASS WHITES TOO. HIS STUFF CAN BE CRITICALLY ANALYSED ETC PLUS IT'S COMMERCIAL SO CAN BE PLAYED ON MAINSTREAM RADIO BUT ALSO CONSCIOUS LYRICS. THE PROBLEM WITH HIM IS HE GIVES OFF THAT STEREOTYPE WHERE SOME (MOST?) PEOPLE THINK BLACKS ARE HORMONALLY MORE AGGRESSIVE, UNABLE TO HOLD IN THEIR EMOTIONS, ETC. I THINK HIS EGO IS JUST A COVER UP FOR WHY MOST CAN BE EGOTISTICAL, SIMPLY TO COVER UP WHAT THEY REALLY SEE THEMSELVES AS AND WHEN THEY COMPARE THEMSELVES TO OTHER PEOPLE (WHICH U SHOULD NEVER DO ANYWAY!!) THEY COME OUT 'INFERIOR' OR 'LESS THAN' OTHERS SO CREATE THIS LEVEL OF SUPERIORITY IN THEIR OWN MINDS. MOST PSYCHOANALYSTS WOULD AGREE, IT'S A COMMON TRICK THAT A FAIR FEW PEOPLE USE. I MEAN AT THE END OF THE DAY ALL HE DOES IS CREATE MUSIC!! I THINK EVERY PERSON ON THE PLANET WOULD STILL EXIST WITHOUT HEARING ANOTHER RECORD FROM HIM! LOL. SORRY SORRY BACK TO THE POINT! :open_mouth:)....THE FIRST TWO TRACKS ON THE ALBUM ARE GOOD, REALLY GOOD BUT EVERYTHING AFTER IS OKISH. 'COLLEGE DROPOUT' WORKED ON SO MANY LEVELS BUT 'MBDTF' IS WHERE HE WANTS TO BE SOME SORT OF CLASSIC ARTIST THAT'S REMEMBERED FOR ALL TIME WITH ABSTRACT IDEAS, CONCEPTS AND SOUNDS... ALSO, I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT IT STRANGE HOW HE ATTEMPTS TO INTELLECTUALLY JUSTIFY RACISM. ONE EXAMPLE IS 'YOU CAN BE MY BLACK KATE MOSS TONIGHT...' IF EMINEM SAID 'YOU CAN BE MY WHITE NAOMI CAMPBELL TONIGHT', DO YOU THINK THERE WOULD BE NO PROBLEM WITH IT??!? KANYE WEST ISN'T THAT SMART BUT IN THE AREA OF RAP HE IS... SORRY FOR THIS LONG MESSAGE!! LOL, I THINK IT'S THE LONGEST MESSAGE I'VE EVER WRITTEN ON HERE! HAHA :open_mouth:) WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON THE LP? PS. HAPPY NEW YEAR! :open_mouth:)

I'd hate to make a list like this...it would never end and there would always be something that I would forget.
LCD Soundsystem & Pulp are two more that I love but no one I know seem to mention much. Also the Pogues are great. Red Roses For Me and If I Should Fall From Grace With God are two albums that would make my favorite list.
Have you heard Clinton? It's just Cornershop with a different name. The music on Handcream For a Generation is very similar what Clinton sounded like.
Great list.

...might be easier to list what you don't like. Lots of good artists but Cornershop and Happy Mondays stand out. I don't know too many people who even know about them but they're both awesome. The newest Cornershop album didn't click with me though. I'll give it another chance someday maybe.
