Where I live, 20 years ago, there used to be a big drive in cinema. Over looking it, on a hill there was a large parking lot that is open free at night. Because it's over looking the drive in, and because after midnight the drive in used to show porn, many people used to come there. Obviously, it turned to be a cruising spot.
