End of an Era?

I don't wanna be "that guy" that can't adapt to changing times - continuing to sell the best buggy whips ever made while the rest of the world is moving onto the automobile - so perhaps it time for me to acknowledge that the era of people uploading home made porn clips for others to jerk off to has passed.

After a pretty long hiatus, I tried to upload a new clip and found that xHamster now requires you to be "verified" in order to upload - which brings me to a likely fork in the road.

There's something a bit unsettling about scanning in my driver's license and sending it to a porn site run out of the Czech Republic (allegedly) and trusting that it will forever and always be safe, secure and not misused, so I'm not going to be going down that path.

I'm not going to be worried about it at the moment but I must admit that it is a bit of a bummer - both because I still have thousands of videos and tens of thousands of photos to share and because I suspect that it's not just xHamster that will be operating like this going forward.

This could be the start of a "new normal", which means that casual sharing of home made videos is at an end.

C'est la vie.
