I am sorry to hear that you had such issues with vitamin k. Even though I live in florida, there have been times when I didn't quite get enough sunlight. There are a few years when I simply became nocturnal. I'm glad you figured out what the issue was. I hope I'm not getting my hopes to high about what vitamin supplements can do for my depression. I am excited about focusing on my physical health. I imagine you do have a very is tight schedule to juggle work, school and exercising. I fought for disability for roughly four years. The side effects of the medicine I was taking were brutal. Even with the medicine, I felt chronic fatigue. When I stopped working and school, I think I had too much time on my hands. That seemed to be when dissociation really became a problem.
I know this reply is not as well thought out or written as it should be. I have so many stupid issues. One of them is getting terrible headaches. That is another issue associated with MTHFR. I can't think clearly when I get a headache like this. Normally, I would blame the alcohol. Unfortunately, nearly daily I get this same damn headache between one to four. Usually, I just try to nap. Today, I'm trying to function through it. Despite this headache, I'm in a very good mood and my energy level is pretty high. Already, the changes in my diet are making an impact. Its interesting that a gene mutation may cause or contribute to your disorder, however, it makes sense. A lot of the time vitamins help process other minerals. For example, I had a vitamin D deficiency once, Vitamin D helps process calcium so even though I was eating foods high in calcium, my body wasn't processing it and I was getting bone/joint pain and a whole load of other problems like depression and anxiety. It was a rough time in my life.
I hope it works out for you, taking these vitamins could help to a degree, but don't stop taking your prescribed medication unless you're cleared not to. Its really tough to tell what affect each things are having as there may be a synergistic affect between your meds and the vitamins.
I would say diet and exercise is always the best way to improve yourself, I'm big into dieting and exercising and I found that I feel 10x better when I am, its a night and day difference. Processed foods tend to have empty calories and fats that hold no nutritional value, so its best to stay away from them when possible, but I cave in every once in awhile.
I've been good though, grinding work, school. and exercising all at the same time. Its stressful but the end is in sight, I'll hit you up on kik though. I'm easier to contact that way- maybe we can find a good medium. And I think I've already put you in my favorites
I got a PM from a man who asked me if I'd heard of MTHFR. I thought it was a prank. Or even more irritating it was some guy trying to say that exercise and diet changes would 'cure' me. Nonetheless, I googled the term and what I found out shocked me. There is a gene mutation in many people that is linked to so many medical issues. Basically, some people don't have the ability to process b vitamins. The research is new. However, people with the defect can have depression, bipolar depression, memory loss, alopecia and more. There are a few other details that make me think I'm affected. I hope to start vitamin treatment soon. If I have the mutation, I shouldn't be eating anything processed because of an issue with folic acid. I know this might be boring. I'm excited though.
There is a chance that vitamins, extreme dietary changes and exercise may mean I no longer need medicine. The research might interest you, especially if you know someone with mental illness. It will take me about three months to find out if this can help me. Nothing could make me happier. I'm sorry that I've been out of touch. I've gone back to working. Things are pretty good. Theres a few times that I've woken up with strangers in my bed and its definitely the alcohol, nothing else to blame.
I also admire that you're putting yourself out there on a site like this with an alopecia condition. A friend of mine in high school had the disorder (I think thats what it is?) and it was really rough on her- losing her hair only in high school, but she persevered and thats what matters. And I'm glad to see you're out there doing your own thing and looking good. I like the wigs on you , you make them work.
