Obviously most monitors in use today have a 16/9 aspect ratio. On the other hand most of the older videos, including the best full feature films ever made, are recorded in a 4/3 aspect ratio. This makes watching them in full screen unpleasant (large black margins left and right). At Xhamster, they only convert the format to flv leaving the aspect ratio of the original upload. If the uploaded videos were preconverted to a 16/9 flv format, they would make a nicer viewing on our local monitors, and may be reduce publishing time at Xhamster because they need minimum or no processing.
