Spelvin suffered as a c***d from polio, but survived the disease well and became a dancer. Her film career began in 1955 with the small role of a choir girl in Heavy Guys - Light Girls by Joseph L. Mankiewicz.
About her friend, the porn actor Harry Reems, she met the porn film director Gerard Damiano and dived into this genre.

Her first pornographic film was made in 1970 under the title Teachers and Cream. Spelvin became world famous in 1973 starring in The Devil in Miss Jones, considered a classic in pornography. In addition to her career as a porn actress, she has also starred in low-budget horror films and comedies like Police Academy.

"Georgina Spelvin" was originally the female counterpart to "George Spelvin": a pseudonym used by actors at American theaters to remain anonymous, much like Alan Smithee's film director alias. The use of the pseudonym became obsolete after Graham had chosen "Georgina Spelvin" as a firm pseudonym for her involvement in pornographic films.

In 2009, Georgina Spelvin appeared in a music video produced by Toby Dye of the song Paradise Circus by Massive Attack. In it, the now 83-year-old describes her memories of the filming of The Devil in Miss Jones.

She retired from adult films in 1982, at age 47.

Quotes from Georgina:

"At 83, my dimensions are the same, but everything is closer to the ground. Weight now at 125. Desk job. What are you gonna do?"

" I adopted the pseudonym Georgina Spelvin soon after [Devil in Miss Jones (1973)] was released and became an instant hit. Before that I used a lot of silly names.
When I played a French maid, I was Ona Tural (au natural). Then there was Claudi Clitoris, and many others. We'd sit around laughing and make them up. But when "Miss Jones" became a national monument, the name Georgina Spelvin was institutionalized along with it, so I kept that name."
