        Definitely try that again!! I would suggest getting more comfortable and playing with yourself prior to this, so you would be more aroused and more into it. Also dont got too small as this can hurt you pretty easily. Personally I hate the steel ones, so i use silicone ones that are SO much better to insert

        silicone is easier to insert as it flex's but the temperature play that you can do with metal ones is amazing! Not to mention the electrostim sounds, that's a whole other ball game

        Also, place yourself so you are stable and supported, and consider using a mirror as well! It might both make the aiming easier, and ease your mind a bit when you can see exactly whats going on. Good luck, its worth the struggle in the end 😀

        Lay yourself down so youre stable, you did it too much from the side and pushed too much skin into the hole, also try to see how your peehole is shaped, it hurts during insertion if you hit the walls of the "tube", you need to see if is going downwards or upwards or something in between, try to feel in which angle you should insert the rod, hold it center aligned and try holding it up so it goes downwards into your hole and from there on lowering it till it slides in without pain.

        What's the point of sterilization in boiling water when you then spray it with "toy cleaner" and cover it with lube? Neither is sterile and both increase risk of infection.

        Silicone ones can help, as has been mentioned! But I like to keep both on hand to switch between. Sometimes the silicone can feel a bit too rough or be hard to control, and sometimes the steel can feel too hard, but being able to switch is great.. Sometimes using steel just in the opening can making it easier to insert the silicone ones afterwards. Another good strategy (as has been mentioned too) is cumming or teasing/edging a bit beforehand, it relaxes makes the sounding way better.

        As others have said, you need to be in a more relaxed position to do this, standing awkwardly like that could end very badly, maybe get your partner to help the first few times. Also never start with such a small sound as it will feel sharp and is more likely to cause damage. Between 5 and 7 mm is about right for the first time, start with a larger one, if it doesn't go in easily then try the next size down. I hope you don't abandon this fetish, the sensations are mindblowing

        I absolutely love sounding! For me, it helps a lot to be relaxed before starting up. I tend to enjoy the experience most when sitting up against the pillows while in bed. If you decide to try again, I would suggest trying to get just a little bit in at first (I started with a plug for awhile before moving up to sounds), to see if you find the experience enjoyable and to get familiar with it all. Surgilube helps, as does having as little clothing on as possible (not to get in the way) 😉
