My Indian Summer

Deleted

I've been offline for several months so I thought I would write a little about what I was up to this spring and summer of the year 2013. Nothing too sexual here. So I'm sorry about that. It was a very eventful several months, but things didn't exactly go as planned.

The plan was to go to India for a few months and stay at an ashram and experience Tantric Yoga. I did get to India. Unfortunately, I never did make it to the ashram.

After landing in Mumbai, I traveled by train for a few days. Then I decided to stay at what passes for a motel in a small village that was way out in the boondocks.

I was unpacking and left the door open. Three young teenage boys rushed into my room. They were maybe 14-16 years old and one boy brandished a steak knife. They robbed me of everything they could get their hands on. One boy started to rip off my clothes. But I know some self-defense moves and I kicked him in the stomach. The punk was lucky that I didn't kick him lower because that's where I was aiming. Then all the boys ran out of the room with my things.

They took all my cash and my laptop. They took my bank cards, identification cards, my train ticket, my passport and all my clothes except for what I was wearing.

I was really shaken up. I didn't report it to anyone in that small village because I got the feeling that would just make it worse and I just wanted out. Eventually, I ventured outside to try to find some help. I spotted an anglo man who turned out to be from the UK. This good soul took me under his wing and bought me a train ticket back to Mumbai and some cash to get me through – which I later repaid to him.

In Mumbai it took much time and effort working through the U.S. consulate to get a new passport and my bank cards reissued. I stayed in a hotel for a month waiting for that to happen. During the end of that month when things were finally coming together I decided that I wanted out of India but I might as well see Europe since it was my first time out of America.

I took a flight to London and toured the city and the UK for a couple of weeks. I met a German woman in London Her name is Anja. She is 30 years old and was on a weekend shopping trip. We bonded and Anja invited me to stay with her at her little house out in the Germany countryside.

Turns out that I stayed with Anja from the middle of March to the middle of August. She's from a well-to-do fam_ily and she doesn't need to work. During that time we made excursions to most all of the European countries. Sometimes by plane and sometimes by train.

Anja's country home was idyllic. Plenty of greenery and mountains and a river running through it. Anja and I each loved other's company *very much*.

We had no internet out there except for very weak satellite wi-fi. We were lucky if we got it to send and receive e-mail. That was by Anja's design as she thinks we need to reconnect with the real world. The internet detox was not too rough for me. I didn't have withdrawal symptoms but I did notice that life seemed so much richer without it.

In mid-August we took a flight to Singapore. There, we rented a car and toured many of the Southeast Asian countries including Viet Nam, Laos, Thailand and Indonesia. Then we returned to Singapore and I took a flight home to the United States west coast while Anja returned to Germany.

All and all, it was a fantastic summer once I got over my India problem. Now I'm back in Ashland, Oregon, living with my girlfriend, Angela. I'm kind of at a crossroads.

I have no obligations in Oregon – such as a job or fam_ily – and I have a little inheritance to support myself. I'm bandying about the idea of hitting the road to tour some of the parts of America that I've never seen. Maybe find a new home if I come across someplace that has that appeal to me. It would be really nice if Angela could join me. After my bad experience in India and my wonderful time with Anja, I would much rather travel with a companion.

I did like not being wired to the internet during the summer. But I love my porn and xHamster too. I'll try to find that balance. I'll keep adding to my masturbation favorites. I love the real scenes – not some porn star shoving some humongous object inside her. Maybe once a week I'll add to my Shannon's Blog or perhaps start another one if I hit the road.

Thank you for reading and it's great to be back!

Kisses, Shannon

nicely done by an intelligent and courageous person...and traveling in India alone and attractive is not smart, as you found out...damn! Could have been worse...I've been there many times and always go with a friend, and I'm male....it's an amazing country really...not easy

Dam ,you just had some bad luck.sorry. But all seemed to turn out good. Travel to places in our great country is the best,no pass port needed. Be glad to help plan your trips, from an old tour bus drivers view. Thanks

Oh it is such a shame your trip was marred by what must have been a terrifying ordeal. It sounds as if you made the best out of the rest of the trip though, you met a new friend and go with the flow is always my briefing for the day. Hope your future travels aren't influenced by the bad experience.

Glad to hear your trip was better after the horrible start in India. Unfortunately, there have been several stories similar to yours in the press, the latest being four men sentenced to hanging for a gang rape. I was pleasantly surprised to see your photo pop up on my News, as I thought we had maybe heard the last from you.

Welcome back

Well... you really had a turning point on your planned trip but hey, you adapted very well. I mean, yes, the trip didn't go as you planned but I think you had a more deep experience than you wanted. Tantric Yoga another time and do please travel with a companion and don't make mention about the internet.

I missed your writings. I'm glad you're back.
Best of luck.

Shannon, you really had your downs and ups! I'm glad you had such a great time with Anja in Europe.
Travel more with your Angela. Feel welcome together in Europe. I'd be proud to host you two.
I've a empty room for guests in my apartment in an unknown little corner of old town and harbour.

Please write more, dear! ***** POET PETER

ooh honey what a bad experience in India but im not surprised that trouble had found you and it goes to show that how young the boys have learnt so much direspect for woman with all the rape and murder you can count your self lucky that no real harm came to you, they have more respect for a hoofed animal then the opposite sex but it good to hear that there are many Karvers out there to again help a damssel in distress lol... babe its great to have you back xxxx

Thanks for sharing this; it's tough to hear about a fellow human being in a bad situation like the one you described in India, but overall it seems to have worked out for the best. It seems like if you hadn't gotten sidetracked from the ashram you wouldn't have met Anja. Does it seem this way to you, or am I reading too much into it?
