We all seek, and are sought by, our own level: A C

We all seek, and are sought by, our own level: A Commentary

Human beings by nature always seek balance, seek equilibrium. None of us enjoy being too low and most of us become cautious when we're too high, doesn't matter what created either state. By being as close to balanced as we practically can be, there are more chances that happiness can be attracted to us and maintained. This is oh-so very true when it comes to friendships and relationships with others.

It's a law of nature and human nature everything and everyone seeks its/their own level. Opposites might indeed attract but almost always are as quickly repelled once the attraction wears off. Birds in general do not flock together, quite the contrary, but birds of a common feather do.

Within the human specie where every single person has their own unique identity it's the recognizable similarities that two or more individuals share that fonts forth immediate smiles and nudgings of possible connections. The traits we share make us greater than those that we don't. It's the combined strength of our sought-for joys that overwhelm the underlying weaknesses of our individual weaknesses.

In friendships and relationships of all labels, realities and practices it's the macro of shared current healing desires that is always greater than the micro selfishnesses of past individual hurts. The human pair-bond drive being so far beyond compelling, yes, that the need to feel like we're looking into a mirror when we gaze into our partner's eyes more than looking through a window with a greater unknown behind it means that if what we see in the reflection of our own selves isn't recognizable as such then by virtue of self-preservation we'll turn our gaze aside, the light reflecting in always coming close to equaling the light bouncing back at us.
