Those damn disclaimers are so f'ricking old!

I know a lot of people think they can protect their content with a disclaimer but there are a couple of problems. One is that you're wasting your time. In the time it took you to add it to your profile you could have Googled UCC 1-103 1-308 and see that it's clearly bogus. More importantly is that it made a sucker out of you. You've allowed herd mentality to trump you're own critical thinking skills and bought into and promulgated someone else's falsehood. I don't know if you noticed or not but I chose to mock it.

You do have copyright on your photos and probably any stories. But that does not mean you could sue some for copying them and putting them somewhere else here or anywhere else unless you could prove harm. You can't sue for monetary damages unless you can prove use of them cost you money. And you can be sure the courts have seen enough of people coming to them because they're nothing more than pissed off that they have no patience for frivolous use of copyright law.

I don't think it's a good thing for people to keep repeating something that's nothing more than bluster. It doesn't stop anybody from doing anything and it's just dumb. Personally, I try not to have my name associated with dumb stuff.

And you can't use "better safe than sorry" because if it doesn't make you safe it can't keep you from being sorry.
