Those of you following me on Twitter probably know more about what I do than simply all of you following me here. I translate Japanese porn. Sometimes I indulge in other things on Twitter, but Twitter is mostly an outlet for giving updates on my translation, and every day life.
My porn translation is a small gig aimed at a target audience: people who watch Japanese porn. My work focuses on a small slice of Japanese porn, and while I don't want to set the focus to far in, the majority of the porn I translate is non-fiction Japanese porn. In this sense, I'm only dividing porn into three categories: fictional porn (sex with a plot, including fuckumentaries like Oppairates of the Caribbean), scene porn (which is basically sex without any real plot) and non-fiction porn (porn with substance other than just fucking). Sorry, I made this up on my own, but I think you get the idea.
A quick look at these three categories shows you why I choose non-fiction porn. Fictional porn is great when done right, and requires a translation to understand what's going on, but as it's fictional, all the lines are made up, and often we don't actually learn anything about the stars in the film. If a film is truely exceptional, it's exceptional in it's writing and acting, not in the stories of the people being filmed. Scene porn is void of any plot, and generally any conversation of value, so there's really nothing to translate.
That leaves non-fiction porn, which could have elements of scene porn, but what sets this apart from other films is the interview, no matter how it's conducted. This is the porn I choose to translate because they often feature real women, and stories that are filled with details that only these women could come up with. The stories are real. The names might be fabricated but from a perspective of someone watching, it's all very real.
0930 and other outlets produce lots of porn on a weekly basis, finding women all over Japan that want to be fucked. Of all the categories, wives and milfs have caught my attention. It's pretty apparent why when you listen to the interviews. Women not in serious relationships don't always have exciting stories to share. Sure, the sex might be great, but I don't find it relatable to someone in their 30s or 40s.
Stories about women in sexless relationships, women who haven't been fucked for months or years is not only hot, it's relatable. How many of you had sex last night with your significant other. Let me rephrase that, how many of you had sex last night. I'm sure if I took a tally I'd find a discrepancy between the two. It's exciting to listen to someone else's sex story, and these women often just let it all out.
Then they get fucked. It's like two shows in one!
